ア":Why are there dots on theア?(Is it supposed to be a muffled or growling sound? How is this pronounced?)
ナイフ:Western-style object? (Why not use the kanji for knife instead? Is it because this is a Western style knife?)
グリコとポッキー:personal choice? (Why not use hiragana for the company and brand name? Is it because the name sounds more Western than Japanese?)

ReplyDeleteア: This word is used to express screaming and pronounced like "Ahhhhhh" making impure.
ReplyDeleteイ: Yes, you're right. Japanese people did not use knife to eat something normally, so the knife is the item which came from foreign country. As the result's kanji does not exsit.
ウ:mostly, the choice of katakana, hiragana, or kanji about products are up to the companies. In my opinion, hiragana cannot use "ー" . So the company might choose katakana.
